House of Sand and Fog

I picked this book, and expected it to be good. Why? Because Oprah said it was an amazing book, and kind of peaked my interest when I read about the families back ground. They came from Iran, and my dad's adoptive family came from Iran. They bought a house, and when I was 5, my father bought a house on a "spur of the moment" kind of thing. So I figured this book would be a good one, and I could emotionally connect to this book. Well I was wrong. This book has been draggggggging on, and it's not peaking my interest one bit.
While reading, I read, just to get the 1/3rd assignment done. I am making no emotional connections to this book, and I just want to throw it at the window in my room, and hope it's open! But I don't want to risk breaking my window. It's definitely a book that I wouldn't recommend if you have a mind like a squirrel.

  1. I didn't love this book either. I think if you look at some of the universal themes the book carries through it, it has some interesting perspectives. But it was a slow read. It's not too late to pick a new book! I want you to read a good book, not just read a book.
