Blog post #3
Being a SEAL is not as glorified as it sounds. After Wasdin escaped death multiple times in Somali and Mogadishu he struggled to live life as a normal person but soon found something he was good at and would support his family. After reading this book I now view military men differently and SEALS are heroes to the extreme , who often endure the most challenging missions. But after all of Wasdins time and stories that he shared during his tours in Iran,Somali, and Mogadishu I began to form an opinion against the government about Veterans. In many cases Veterans struggle after wars,so why is it that the government does not do more financially for higher ranking and classified level SEALS. In my opinion a decorated and honorable SEAL should have no worries financially as a Veteran , because they have paid their dues and put their lives on the line for their country to the fullest. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and his personal life stories and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys war stories or simply just like action!
